New and Improved Top 100 Bloggers List

I know that a lot of you are fans of the Top 100 Bloggers List that I’ve recommended. It’s one of the first most popular bloggers lists on the net and continues to improve all the time.

Well, they have a new look and some major improvements and it’s time to take another look at the new and improved Top 100 Bloggers List:

We have been back in the shop putting together a new theme and finally are ready to release it. You can now view the new face of Top100Bloggers.com and look at all the fun new pretty visuals on it.

Additionally to giving the community a face lift, we also updated the code slightly for your button code. We would appreciate it if everyone would visit their control panel and generate code for your site(s) and add the code onto your site. There were a few updates to the code to make things a little more friendlier for everyone — so we would deeply appreciate it if you would update your code.

Top 100 Bloggers - Lorelle on WordPress informationThe Top 100 Bloggers is also taking action to crack down more on fake or abusive sites, and they’ve expanded their categories so it is easier to see which blogs are in the top of a specific category rather than just the whole top 100 bloggers list.

The Top 100 Bloggers list is a fun idea. You get a chance to be a part of a group and compete against each other using site statistics and voting to move up and down in the list of the Top 100 Bloggers. For me, it isn’t just about the competition. I like reading the comments people make about the different blogs, discovering some interesting blogs along the way.

Blogs on the Top 100 Bloggers list is not limited to only English. There are blogs there in many other languages.

Now some people really promote voting for their blog in order to get it to rise to the top of the Top 100 Bloggers list, but it will also rise to the top based upon your blog’s traffic. And, as I’ve said so many times here, content equals growing fans and dedicated audience.

Still, it’s another neat way to monitor how your blog is doing, especially for WordPress.com blogs without expansive site statistics information, especially useful for WordPress.com bloggers.

Users with the full version of WordPress need to simply visit the new Control Panel (CP) at and click GENERATE HTML to get the new version of the HTML code required for posting on your site as one of the participants in the Top 100 Bloggers. Edit whichever template file you would like to showcase the code and link and replace your old code with the new.

users can add the Top 100 Bloggers list and image to their Links (Blogroll) easily.

The HTML code generated looks approximately like this:

<!-- Top100Bloggers.com -->
<a href="http://www.top100bloggers.com/index.php?do=votes&amp;id=XXX" rel="nofollow"><img border="0" src="http://www.top100bloggers.com/tracker.php?do=in&amp;aid=XXX" alt="Top100Bloggers.com" /></a><br />
<font size="1"><a href="http://www.top100bloggers.com">Top100</a></font>
<!-- /Top100Bloggers.com -->

From that generated HTML you will need 2 links: The first link to your registered blog account and the other to the Top 100 Bloggers graphic.

Go to your Links manager Administration Panel and create a new link. Paste the first link in the URL box:

http://www.top100bloggers.com/index.php?do=votes&amp;id=XXX

Scroll down to the image URL box and enter the link to the image:

http://www.top100bloggers.com/tracker.php?do=in&amp;aid=XXX

Be sure and click the option that enables images to be used in place of text for the links. Then click SAVE and view your website and you should see your new icon and link to your Top 100 Bloggers account.

People can then click on the link and “vote” for you, as well as check your site statistics, find out how you compare with others, read comments people have made about your blog, and discover new potential blogs to explore.

Thanks to Top 100 Bloggers’ President, Jonathan, a great friend of bloggers everywhere, for making the Top 100 Bloggers list much better and much more fun to explore.
