Blog Challenge: Blog About Something You Know Nothing About

While this might be easy for some, it will be a real challenge for others.

Your this week is:

To blog about something you know nothing about.

Not just anything, but something you really know nothing about. It doesn’t have to be interesting to you, since you know nothing about it or never wanted to. It just needs to be something you’ve not blogged about before, nor know anything about.

This means you are going to have to learn.

When we open our minds up to new ideas, concepts, and information, the nerves work harder to make connections in our brains, stimulating, and in some cases, revitalizing, different areas of your brain as you learn something new.

Processing that information works your brain even more. Translating it into words on a blog post might break your brain. 😀

You can blog about this something you know nothing about in a way that relates to your blog content, or not. Just stretch your mind and explore something totally new and see what happens in the process.

These are published weekly and are an attempt to kick your blogging ass. They serve to challenge your thinking and efforts in blogging and blog writing. To participate, start challenging yourself now. Today. Go for it.

    Does it count if I was already doing that in my adventures of installing Linux?

    @Chris Osborne:

    Hmm, let’s see. Is this something you know nothing about NOW? If you are already blogging about learning Linux, you’ve learned something, haven’t you? 😀

    I didn’t know anything about breast cancer or how to perform a breast self exam, but I am blogging to create awareness on breast cancer in October. Err, does that count?

    @pelf:

    I didn’t think there would be an issue with this. Nor how many ways people can come up with to get “credit” for a challenge that they are already doing. 😀

    There are no rewards for taking on these challenges except improving your blogging and yourself. If you think this qualifies, it’s up to you, not me. I only expect that if you decide to accept the challenge, you will share on your blog or here what you learned from the completed experience of blogging, and learning, about something you knew nothing about.

    Combined with your recent ‘blog-struggles’-articles on maintaining focus, this was really was a challenge…
    But I think I did it…
    For my (Dutch) blog about herbs, I wrote an article (to be published next week) on Salvia divinorum, diviner’s sage. Although I know a lot about herbs, I know (I knew) next to nothing about entheogens… and now I know at least a tiny little bit more… without having scared away my readers with some unfocused chatter

    annetanne: Excellent. You kept the subject within your blog’s topic while still pushing the limits of what you know. So how was it? How did it feel to dig into new information and knowledge instead of just blogging what you know?

    How it felt? Excellent…
    Until now, I never wrote and only seldom read about this kind of herbs, but their background is fascinating… And when my readers seem to like my next-week’s article about Salvia divinorum, I’ll possibly write more often about formerly neglected plants…
