On the list of things I’m not worthy of are two award nominations from Peformancing: Most Influential Blogger Award and Best Writing and Blogging Award.
It’s a reader’s choice poll, so you can vote for your favorites. I’m in good company, but also intimidated by the company I’m in. They are MUCH better than me at all of this blogging stuff. Give them your vote and I’m going to vote for them, too.

I just keep doing what I do, pausing to kick your blogging ass once in a while. I’m just glad you are here. That means more to me than the awards. Thanks.

Lorelle, I think you cannot contest against either of the nominations. Your readers, like me, are the best ones to say whether you influence us or not. I say you have been like a guiding light through your writings and thoughts. I wonder if I would be blogging at all if I was not reading you. So, congratulations, and whatever happens at the awards, you already influenced and helped a lot of people.
I disagree with you. You are more than worthy of nomination and winning!

Begging to differ with your self-assessment re the Awards-nominations, Lorelle.
It appears that the awards are for “Most Influential” and for “Best Writing”. Not for, say, “dazzling deployment of iTech” or “scoring the sexiest talking-points”. Perhaps others have an edge in these areas, and perhaps some judge nominees on them.
But in terms of “influence” and “writing”, I don’t see you giving up much to many, at all. The 2 factors that I see making the VanFossen difference are keeping the focus on the audience rather than the other experts, and the consistent application of Thomas Edison’s favorite dictum.
Sorry, but I’ll have to decline your nomination-advice. 😉

I humbly suggest you stop worrying about such trifles as if you are “worthy” or not and let your readers decide for you. It’s up to them after all. Besides, we’re always our own worst critics. At least the good ones are.
You are more than “worthy” Lorelle. Just take our word for it and leave the rest. 😀
And sorry, but I’m also disinclined to acquiesce to your request. Good thing we can vote for more than one, huh?

Aww, Azrin, that’s not nice! (But still, it IS a distinction, of sorts! And I clicked your name just to see what might constitute the WORST non-US blogger of the year, but I have to disagree. Oh, boy, could I name worse ones. Maybe not THE worst…that’d be almost harder than choosing the BEST! 🙂

I don’t read other blogs a lot, but yours has come on my radar recently – primarily on doing searches regarding WordPress semantics. I think you definitly fit the 9Rules requirements to be deemed WORTHY AGAIN.
At a point, you do need to step-up and acknowledge who you are and what you’re capable of. Not only have you been nomindated, a second time, but your readers tell you “whatever” when you blog about your (modesty) feelings of unworthiness. They believe in you – that’s what counts and matters. You can be as modest as you like, but the fact is you deserve the honor. You don’t have to have a big head and say “vote for me, I want it.” Likewise, you also don’t have to deem yourself unworthy, considering so many other people believe otherwise. I don’t know how to tell you to react, but I’ll tell you that not only 9Rules, and your readers know you’re worthy … you know it too and should acknowledge this yourself.

Thanks for the kind words, and honestly, I have received many awards and accolades for this blog and other online work I do, and only a few do I ever publish or fuss over. They aren’t the reason I do this and they do embarrass me.
As for acknowledging who I am and what I’m capable of, I don’t need an award to tell me that. I know those answers.
I wish I could explain this better. The moment those awards become important to me, my work here is done. It’s not about the trophies. It’s about the work. It’s about you, the reader. That is my reward.
I want everyone who does well in blogging to get the acknowledgment they deserve, but more importantly, that they want. Me, I don’t want them. You reading and enjoying what I write is motivation and encouragement enough.
It’s not false modesty. It’s reality.
Besides, these mean little unless they come with cash. 😀
