Blog Challenge: Top Ten Blog Interface Designs

Business Logs offers “The Web’s Best Interface Design” websites, and I thought I’d challenge you to:

List Your Top Ten Best Interface Designed Blogs

As part of my ongoing , I want you to blog about your ten favorite designed blogs from a different perspective: user friendly navigation.

Pretty is important, but what is most important in a good website or blog design is helping visitors find what they are looking for. This means a blog needs to have a clean, easy-to-read design that incorporates strong and useful navigational aids, starting with the front page and continuing through the various page views such as single post views, categories, archives, search results, and more.

The visitor must move through all the interconnecting links with ease, directed to specific related content groups as well as individual posts. They need to be able to search quickly and easily, and see the spots on the map of the blog worth exploring.

This week’s challenge is to spotlight your favorite ten blogs that feature top notch navigational aids and an easy-to-use interface, and to tell us why each one impresses you.

This might prove to be more of a challenge than you might think. A website is usually focused on one to five specific topics, services, or products. They have a very narrow subject focus. A blog can cover hundreds of different similar or distinctive topics, thus making navigation and assimilation of the content on the blog complicated and confusing.

When a new visitor arrives on a blog, they only take a few seconds to determine if the content on the blog is useful to them, and then they are gone. Your challenge is to point out 10 blogs which take these few seconds serious, helping direct their visitors in the right direction.

Please, don’t toot your own horn. We know you’ve been faithfully doing every I’ve thrown at you and yours is the best blog on the planet. Your list needs to feature other blogs. 😉

As usual, you can blog about it in the comments below, or on your own blog and link back and trackback here.

This is just another of my many which I offer weekly to help kick your blogging ass. For more challenges, see the category.
