Social Media for Crafters Ebook Sale Ending

I am so thrilled and honored that hundreds of people have taken advantage of the 99 cent sale for my new book, Social Media for Crafters: Covering the Basics of the Social Web. The sale was only supposed to be for a couple of weeks, but we extended it as the demand was so high. Seriously, I’m humbled. Thank you all so much for your support!

However, all good things must come to an end and the publishers have decided to end the sale price as of Monday, April 25. The 99 cent sale will end and the book will be available for $14.95. You can buy it at the WordCast Store.

I told the whole story behind my new book in the original announcement for Social Media for Crafters if you would like to know more about it.

What I want to share with you is the amazing response I’ve gotten from so many people about this book. It’s been overwhelming.

I’m hearing from a lot of people who were fearful of online communities, honestly believing the social web was a place of risk and evil. Learning that there is a “kinder and gentler” side to the web has meant a lot to so many creative people eager to share their passions.

Professional crafters came to me and confided that while they knew they needed to get “connected” online, until they read my book, they thought it was a huge intimidating space and a giant time suck. One yarn store owner told me, “You made it easy to integrate social media into my day-to-day work life, so it actually helps by making more money, brings in more students, and saves me a ton of money and time!” Another, a yarn spinner, told me that she better understands where to direct her online marketing energy towards the people she wants to get to know better as they will not just buy her home-made yarns but help her understand more about their needs so she can fulfill them.

I’m starting to do workshops and classes at yarn, fabric, and craft shops and industry events as I, to quote one of the organizers, “bring common sense to social media.”

I’m seriously humbled by all this attention. My goal was to reach out to those who needed a simple helping hand to connect with others in their crafting interest around the world. I love learning about how people in Australia are quilting, knitting, and tatting. I’ve learned so much from the growing number of tatters around the world, a 17th century art form that was once nearly extinct. After almost two decades hunting for books and information, as well as fellow tatters, there are now online groups of passionate tatters finding they aren’t alone in their own hunt!

Thank you again to everyone who has been so supportive and encouraging, and for the many crafters who have reached out to me to share their own online experiences and expertise. Many are already asking for a sequel, designed for professional crafters, and I promise I’m thinking about it. Let’s see how the first book fares, and so far, it’s rocking!
