The holidays for many are often stuffed with tons of cheer, family, friends, and parties. For my husband and I, most of our life was spent away from family and friends, so we made it a part of our holiday cheer to invite total strangers, orphans, forgotten ones, and the lucky ones to a holiday gathering of our own. Now that we have a home of our own, no longer living full-time on the road, we are continuing the tradition and would like to invite you to join us.
If you live or are traveling to the Portland, Oregon, area on December 26, 2010, we invite you to come join our After Christmas Blues Party in North Plains. The open house fun begins at 2PM and continues until the last one goes home.
Our home is north of North Plains, 30-45 minutes west of downtown Portland, past Beaverton and north of Hillsboro off Highway 26. We’re not far from the Hillsboro Train Station (Blue Line) and can pick people up there. If snow comes, we’ll arrange “park and rides” from Highway 26.
We’d love to have you join us for our informal social gathering in our home in the forests of the Coastal Mountain foothills. We’ll have plenty of food, and you can bring any left overs and drinks to weigh down the table. We promise good people, great fun, hot tub, and new friends to meet. If we’re lucky, we’ll even find a piano or guitar player or other musicians in our midst to entertain us all.
Canned and packaged food will be accepted for donation to the Oregon Food Bank, if you are inclined to continue the giving season by helping the hungry after the holidays.
We’d love to have you join us.
