Eaton Web offers “How to Become a More Passionate Blogger” and makes a very important point:
Passionate bloggers have advantages over non-passionate bloggers including attracting a higher quality and more supportive readership.
So, how do you become a more passionate blogger?
First of all, enjoy your niche. Blog about something you love. If you don’t like to travel, don’t start a travel blog. If you don’t like video games, don’t start a video game blog. If you don’t like American football, don’t start an NFL blog. Simple, right?
The key to being passionate is to figure out what excites you. Consider the niches you gravitate towards. What do you spend your money on? What occupies much of your time? What do you like to think about?
If you aren’t enjoying your blog subject and focus, then stop. The odds are that your readers aren’t enjoying it either.
Do I really need to say more on this subject?
Probably. 😀

This is exactly why I recently set up another blog about my one, lifelong passion: books, words, reading. I felt somewhat dried up on my other blog (writing about life in my adopted homecountry of sorts), but I don’t want to give up that blog and neither did I want to give up writing and blogging altogether.
I was challenged by Lorelle’s series on “Blog Struggles” and ended up starting a second blog focused on one of my life-long passions: future technology. I’m now excited about this blog (and promoting it) in a way I never was when I was just writing a vanity blog.
@Phil:
Thank you for the kind words and for the motivation to keep on shouting my points from the roof tops. 😀
It’s amazing, isn’t it, when you change your head from “I enjoy this” to “I can’t live without doing this!”
Amen! I completely agree. Which is why I’ve managed to keep it up for almost 4 years… on the SAME topic…
I found out this on my first blog. It did not last for more than a month. Then I started over and everything went fine. Here I am, 2 years and 5 blogs running later 🙂
You have a fantastic blog and I have enjoyed your photography information. Will visit often.
Yup! This really works. I’m in my third month of blogging. And since I blog about everything that interests me, my blog’s doing well. 😀
yea. its well said… so no more explanations.. is this what u call self explanatory ? ..
this is similar to what I have made the formula for my life lol…
years ago, someone whom I respect the most told me, “be the best in what you do” and later I modified it for my self, ( lazy me ) .. ” be what you can be the best ” or do what you can do the best 🙂 simple isn’t it ?
I am still struggling with the blog thing. I know my passion, or at least I claim to, but I am not necessarily an outgoing person. I can’t just seem to find that rhythm to get me up and going on a blog. I have one and it is just not working. Thank you for sharing such good advice. I’ll keep reading, learning and in the end decide if blogging is right for me.
Thank you lorelle, your blogging tips have inspired me to continue on blogging! Keep up with the great work!
