WordCamp 2007 is now rocking. July 21-22 in San Fransisco, California, registration is required and tickets are $25 USD through PayPal.
The WordCamp Schedule and line up is awesome:
- Podcasting – Dan Kuykendall, author of PodPress
- Blogs vs. Journalism – John Dvorak and Om Malik
- Content Connections and Blogging Tips – Lorelle VanFossen
- Blog Monetization – Jeremy Wright
- Getting Involved with WordPress – Lloyd Budd and Mark Jaquith
- Designing the Obvious – Robert Hoekman, Jr.
- Whitehat SEO tips for Bloggers – Matt Cutts
- High Performance WordPress – Barry Abrahamson and Matt Mullenweg
- Interative Design in Agile Environments – Rashmi Sinha
- Musical Interlude – Andy Skelton
- Past, Present, and Future of Web Publishing – Dave Winer
- Usability Analysis of WP – Liz Danzico
- State of the Word – Matt Mullenweg
- Developer Duke-out – Michael Adams, Ryan Boren, Mark Jaquith, Andy Skelton, et al
Last year’s program was more informal and still being talked about, so this year, while structured better, is designed to be a total knock out with the best of the best. Wow!
The word is that Andy Skelton is still planning on riding his motorcycle to WordCamp. I’m still waffling between motor home and airplane. Matt and Ryan will probably walk or take the metro, but what about the rest of you? How are you getting there and are you going to be there!

Is it possible to come virtual?
wish i could come, but it’s kind of far from switzerland
I’m seriously contemplating traveling by motorcycle as well.
I would sooooooo love to go! But, being disabled (read: on a fixed income) it would be financially impossible.
HOWEVER, it would be GREAT if one could attend virtually. Any possibility that this might take place this year? Next?
Virtually, hmmm. I wonder if anyone is going to do live blogging and video – wouldn’t that be cool?
Perhaps a virtual conference could be arranged for later in the year? (It seems a little late to be doing it now.)
I would love to see more local stuff – but Metro Detroit has long lost its appeal for most people.
Pax,
MLO
Let’s hope so that it’s going to be virtual.
Perhaps not live but with videoblogs of the day and conferences.
@Lorelle: are you going to record your session? Perhaps with audio or video?
No. I am personally not going to record my session. As for what WordPress and Automattic does, ask them. I have no idea yet.
As for local stuff, I post news on international WordPress events when I’m informed of them every Wednesday on my WordPress Wednesday News report. I’m always looking for WordPress related activities to promote, so let me know if you hear of any.
I asked, because I would like to hear you because I like you’re blog and wonder how a verbal session of you would be like.
I try to read your wordpress news on the blog herald. But There is so much to read and to little time. I hope I have more time in a little while.
I let you know if I hear something.
