The Weekly Digest from Lorelle on WordPress this week features hot news about the delay in WordPress 2.2, the The Successful and Outstanding Blogger Conference (SOBCon07) which I will be attending in May, Lorelle in print, and some fun I’m having cracking down on those who steal my post content.
Exciting Lorelle on WordPress News
Lorelle is in print, too: Yes, Lorelle can be seen in print. 😉 I was asked to do a special version of an article I wrote several years ago, The Symptoms of Touch, for the May issue of CHANGE Magazine published in Houston, Texas. The magazine is designed to help those in recovery and changing their life move forward with a positive attitude and the tools to help them make a success of those changes. Keep an eye out for a copy if you live in the area.

Bloggers Choice Awards: Lorelle on WordPress is now in third place in the nominated for the Bloggers Choice Awards for the best blogger blogging about blogging category. With 116 votes so far, I want to thank everyone who voted for my blog. The neat thing about these contests is finding new blogs and bloggers. These give great exposure to some wonderful blogs. Go check them out.
Successful and Outstanding Blogger Conference: I’m now set and will be at the The Successful and Outstanding Blogger Conference (SOBCon07) in Chicago, May 11-12. It’s an amazing full day of workshops by top blogging and web professionals on community building and new interactive technologies to help you build your blog and your blogging business. I reviewed it in the Blog Herald with The Relationship Conference: Building Blogs Through Interaction. Space is very limited and time is running out.
WordCamp 2007 will be July 21-22 in San Francisco: There is now an official WordCamp 2007 Upcoming Events page. This is the second annual meeting and WordPress users will be attending from all over the world, possibly even me. The turnout is expected to be at least double, if not triple, from last year’s event, so make sure you make arrangements as soon as possible.
WordPress Meetups: I list the WordPress events I find in my WordPress Wednesday on the Blog Herald, and recently started a WordPress Events Page to help publicize WordPress Meetups and groups. If you are a member, make sure you get me your information and schedule so I can help promote your events.

Most Popular Articles on Lorelle on WordPress
A tiny bit of code was changed in WordPress.com and there were a lot of ickies reported. I posted WordPress.com Hiccup with Themes, which got a lot of attention as WordPress.com users were startled to find that their custom CSS designs weren’t designing any more and that many blogs were reset back to the Default WordPress Theme and default WordPress blog settings. The disruption didn’t last long as the WordPress.com team was on it immediately. Their response is always amazing.
Still, this serves as reminder that WordPress.com blogs are run with state-of-the-art, cutting-edge WordPress technology. WordPress.com usually gets a first hand look at the next version of WordPress. It also means that WordPress.com bloggers are test driving WordPress. There will be a few hiccups and glitches along the way, but that’s a small price to pay for living on the blogging edge.
The WordPress 2.2 Delay also brought a lot of attention as many were looking forward to the great new expected features. But the delay is a minor one, we’ve been told, and well worth the wait.

New Arrivals on Lorelle on WordPress
Which blogs linked to Lorelle on WordPress? I’d love to tell you all about the exiting folks who are linking here, but unfortunately, a lot of them are coming from splogs, spam blogs stealing my content and using it in place of their own.
As a reminder, if it is on the web, it’s not free. Nothing is. Unless it says it is free to use, but even then, it might only be free to use for non-commercial sites. If you have ads on your blog, does that make your blog commercial or not? That’s a good question, one facing many copyright fighters today. Splogs are attacking left and right and I’m seeing a lot of reports by bloggers who never thought their content was that valuable, let alone worth stealing. Guess what? The sploggers don’t care. They just take.
To fight back, see What Do You Do When Someone Steals Your Content and follow the step-by-step instructions. And report all spam blogs to Google’s Spam Report so a stop can be put to these evil doers.
