WordPress Plugins Series

WordPress PluginsThe end of the month long series featuring WordPress Plugins is done – well, almost. I’ll have a few more posts summarizing up some Plugins I missed as well as lessons learned.

The total so far is 32 articles about a wide variety of WordPress Plugin categories. Amazing.

Here they are:

These 32 articles represent only a small fraction of the WordPress Plugins out there. I wanted to cover WordPress Plugins for maps and geographical blogging, online chatting and instant interactivity, research and documentation writing (footnotes, bibliographies, and citations), more business-oriented needs, and more. Maybe later. I’ve only scratched the surface of what is out there.

This isn’t the end of my WordPress Plugin coverage. Don’t worry. I’m always on the look out for that perfect Plugin for all our needs. Still, are there any specific Plugins or types of Plugins you would like me to blog about? What types of WordPress Plugins are you looking for? What do you need for your WordPress blog.

Please, remember what I wrote at the beginning of this Plugin series. Go hug a WordPress Plugin author. Can’t do that? Pay them. Can’t do that? Buy them dinner, whether you are in attendance or not. At the very least, publicly thank WordPress Plugin authors for the hard work they do to make your blogging experience better.

And my thanks to all WordPress fans and the WordPress community for making my work so easy and fun. I’m so thrilled to have met all the wonderful and creative folks out there who have done so much for our WordPress blogs with their Plugins and Themes. You are my heroes. All of you. Thank you.

    I learned more in month about what’s available for WordPress than in the past three years. Great job.

    I truly enjoyed this series, Lorelle. I just switched to WordPress from MT a few months ago, and I now feel like I am well aware of all the plugins out there for me to use. I downloaded many plugins that you highlighted throughout the month, and bookmarked many more. 🙂 Thank so much for all your hard work on this!

    Hi Lorelle, I’m reading your whole blog and I bookmarked almost all the pages 🙂 I found every plugin I was looking for thanks to your site but it seems I can’t find any archives plugin. I want the default archives page to show date/title per category for each month (next page/month – previous page/month), that’s it. Simple but I can’t find one. Maybe you could help by any luck. Thx !

    Blog Navigation WordPress Plugins: Related, Recent, Most Popular Posts and More is the article in this series which covers site maps (aka archives) and you will find more on Jim Westergren, “Tutorial on Automatic Site Maps in WordPress”.

    @Bob McGuire:

    One of the main responsibilities of a webmaster’s life is learning the truth on the ground about how SEO works, not the myths. Dofollow/nofollow doesn’t work. Doesn’t matter. Isn’t important. And Google isn’t the end-all-and-be-all. It’s time to update your SEO knowledge. There is SO much more to SEO than WordPress putting a nofollow into a link in a comment. That’s the least of your SEO problems. Concentrate on what really works, not on the most talked about myth.
