I recently posted a blogging challenge on changing the world in 30 seconds and it got me thinking about how blogs have had such an amazing impact on the world today.
While many think about blogs as offering examples of freedom of speech, allowing those who have long not been heard to shout their message to the world, I believe blogs have done more than that.
Businesses have blogs. Children have blogs. Seniors have blogs. Got a hobby? Blog about it. Got a passion, blog about it. Anyone can blog and while many do, some shouldn’t. But either way, it’s easy and even free to blog and anyone can blog.
Blogs have influenced opinions. While not completely considered “true journalism”, they are now popular with the news media, with journalists blogging and journalists interviewing and getting tips from bloggers. Blogs have impacted politics, shopping, marketplaces, and shaped opinions.
Your blogging challenge this week is to answer the question:
Have blogs changed the world?
List specific examples, if you have them, and let us know how blogs are changing the way we communicate, get information, give information, and how they are changing your life, as well as the world we live in.
As usual, send a trackback or leave a comment below to let us know you’ve accepted this week’s Blog Challenge, or post it in the comments below. You can find more blogging challenges in the Blog Challenge category.
