The new version includes AJAX features for WordPress 2.0. You can add tags on your Write Post panel, or directly on posts with an AJAXy box, or “in posts using special syntax from external editors (or internally, if you’d like).”
To add the “on post tagging”, you will need to install and customize the AJAXy search feature, so some of the new features require a little more expertise than the older versions of the Plugin.
The installation is typical of all WordPress Plugins. Download the correct version for your WordPress version. Unzip the downloaded folder and upload it to your
/wp-content/plugins/ folder. If you have already been using the Ultimate Tag Warrior (UTW) WordPress Plugin, nothing should change. If you are new to UTW, then activate the Plugin and go to Manage > Tags to edit the tag configuration.
Tags can be put on your WordPress blog in two ways or a combination of the two. You can add them automatically in a few select places within your WordPress Theme layout through the UTW Tag configuration menus. Or you can add them manually with template tags in your WordPress Theme template files.
With the introduction of AJAX features, the Ultimate Tag Warrior WordPress Plugin is now extremely powerful. Combined with WordPress Widgets, I bet it’s just a matter of time before UTW is incorporated into WordPress.com blogs, allowing easy addition of tags to our blogs. It would sure be nice and eagerly embraced.
