Top Tips for Making Presentations

As a long time teacher and lecturer, and also offering the occassional workshop on public speaking, I love learning about what others think are the best tips for helping people make presentations. Today’s world of presentations have changed. Even simple school lessons are now using computers, laptops, handheld computers, and digital images and projectors to help make the points.

I ran across 43 Folders’ Presentation Tips which are not found in the post but in the dozens of comments left by helpful people with some expertise, offering their well-learned advice on how to give a good presentation.

Even I found some great references and tips there. Just goes to show that the power of blogging is not just to write about what you know, but to invite others to share what they know to help you and others. Magic.

I agree there are many fantastic ideas for making public speaking an easier and less nerve wracking task. I have found that people need to find their own style of delivery. You can learn much from watching great speakers and observing how they deliver a speech. The lesson is not to do a carbon copy of their style but to take bits of what you like and make them your own.
