Women Bloggers on

Are you a woman blogging on Craig is looking for women bloggers on

Craig is curious about women blogging on, why and what they are saying, and if the community meets their needs.

The issues of being a woman blogger are also worth exploring. Is there a difference? What do you think?

I think women bloggers get a disproportionately high number of comments on their entries. But you can’t take my word on that theory, since I am directly supporting it by this comment.

Women are rather a minority in the blogging world (well, in the serious blogging world, ignoring anyone under 18 and most people on LiveJournal), and they get more attention because of it. Consider the case of “Hot Abercombie Chick,” (use Google, no link here) who writes thoughtful essays on philosophy and politics. “HAC” has been outed as being a male, but has continued the charade. And people keep coming to the site and commenting and reading. Think of that… they’re so desperate to read a woman blogger that they’ll read a man pretending to be a woman! Sort of reminds you of male-only armies where they would be so desperate for a female presence that a male with makeup and a coconut bra was an acceptable facsimile.
