BarCamp offers a wide range of informal educational retreats/workshops around the world, mostly dedicated to technology such as blogging, gaming, and so on. Check out the schedule for a BarCamp event in your area, especially those involving WordPress-related topics.
You can also find a variety of WordPress groups and their meeting schedules at wordpress.meetup.com.
