The New York Times set out to write a short article about (I believe) every person who died there, not just obituaries, but written by their staff writers. Did it ever get assembled into a book? I really don'tknow. I didn't subscribe to the Times, so I didn't read them all of course, but it was the one "writing" project that came out of the tragedy that I remember as haunting. Day after day they appeared, all personalized, could see author had taken time and research to do.

I don't understand. If you have a story of your 9-11 experience, you can write it or record audio or video, whatever it takes to tell your story in your language. it's your story, tell it your way.

I was not living in the United States at the time, and I can tell you that the events of 9/11 impacted people around the world, some more than even for some in the United States. One woman I met a year after the event in Prague refused to fly in an airplane because of what she saw on her television that day. Another person in London told me that they were afraid to be away from the television or radio for months for fear of missing hearing some piece of critical news because he missed the 9/11 news as it happened. Odd, but trauma like this impacts everyone. It's what we do with our lives afterwards that truly defines courage.

Thanks.

Hi Lorelle, you have creatively woven a very help blog post, especially those who are directly affected by 9/11. Even if I live oceans away from New York, I can't help but sympathize with what the Americans went through since that day of terror. May we all join hands, helping one another to achieve peace and make the whole world a haven of joy and understanding. Thank you for putting up this valuable post!
