If it was a non-issue then there wouldn’t be a whole lot of noise about it, would there. Obviously it is an issue, and should be treated as one instead of trying to dismiss the fact. Any (and every) plugin that alters someones writing should be disabled by default and the user should be given the OPTION of enabling it, not vice-versa.

Wow, a whole lot of noise about a non-issue. This has nothing to do with freedom of speech or any of the other assumptions being made. Goodness. WordPress is spelled WordPress and spelling it that way is a sign of respect to the trademark. There are many bloggers using the various WordPress Plugins listed in More WordPress Logogate. WordPress enthusiasts can be fanatic about spelling it correctly, which is where the Plugins came from to make sure they did. I also never said Matt designed the logo, but he certainly had a say in its creation. Don't you when you design your logo? I see this issue has brought out the nasties, never my intention. If there is anyone who has done more for giving people the freedom to express themselves around the world than Matt, in spite of having WordPress.com banned from access in some parts of the world because the WordPress.com team wouldn't back down when freedom of speech was under attack, name them. Let's honor them all. You'll see the number is very small.

'Matt spent a lot of time going through various fonts in the creation of the original logo and he wants that font preserved.'

Matt designed the current logo? I know he did the pre-2.0 version -- the one in Dante -- but I was under the impression this one was handled by a professional designer. (So too it seems is Jason Santa Maria of Happy Cog, who claims to have done it.)
