It appears that I’ve come in third in the Blogger’s Choice Awards for the Best Blog About Blogging category. Above me are Darren Rowse of Problogger.net and a newbie on the block, Blogging Basics 101. I’d love to showcase the others who came in below me on the list, but it appears that the counting for next year as already begun. Darn.
Among the other winning categories, I’m in good company, including some other WordPress.com bloggers like Icanhascheezburger, and even WordPress.com won second for best blog hosting! I feel like I won twice with that announcement.
I’m a fan of some of the blogs that also won, and was delighted to discover many new blogs, including one by actor David Hewlett. I’m a big fan of Stargate, so I was thrilled to see him among the honorees. Makes me feel even more special.
I was also thrilled to find so many arts and crafts, food and cooking, health and fitness, science, and mommy and family blogs among the list. I like the diversity the competition covered.

I’m in very good company, indeed. And I found some great new blogs to explore, which is the best part of these contests.
It’s fascinating to go through the list and see how many interesting and unique blogs. I’m thrilled that some of the “old bloggers”, like Seth, Rosie, and me, are still getting attention. It’s wonderful to see so much specialization in blogging, creating online experts I’m eager to learn from.
I’m really honored to be among these top notch determined bloggers.
I mentioned my inclusion in the competition in April and had forgotten about it. Not something I pay much attention to, but it really is an honor to be recognized by my peers as one of the top bloggers blogging about blogging.
So as usual, I’m a bit speechless and feel unworthy of such an award and recognition.
These awards are arbitrary in so many ways, but I know this type of award took action and energy on your part to nominate and vote for me. That means a lot. In a way, it’s another method of saying thank you for all the years of babble I’ve spewed out. It must mean something if people got off their lazy computer butts and voted, right?
Thanks to everyone for your vote. Contests and awards aside, it is your continuing enthusiasm for what I do that keeps me blogging. Thank you so much for your support.

You really do deserve it, Lorelle. I just wish the list were shorter. A few clicks through the list and you’re right: it seems pretty arbitrary.
Congratulations. Third is still really impressive. Well done on your success
Congrats lady – you wholeheartedly deserve the honor, and don’t let those little doubting voices convince you otherwise!
Congrats and BIG thank you for all of those links above! =)
Congrats. Your like the queen of WordPress
“like” the queen of WordPress? She is the Queen of WordPress
Congrats on third! That was some high competition in your category. And I’ll have you know that when I was using WordPress, I certainly read your blog a lot…not that I understood it because my brain is thick. LOL But it made me feel like maybe I could figure it out one day.
Thanks for the mention Lorelle, as I mentioned over on Darren’s blog the marketing category was being lead by a Brazilian blog for the majority of the time, I am not sure what happened during the last 2 weeks, but it disappeared from the listings.
Your prize was very well deserved.
At a very early stage I decided I had more chance of beating the sleeping giants, Brian and Seth, than beating you or Darren on the blogging prize, plus it is much closer to my topic.
How cool is that! Congratulations!

Congrats Lorelle.
(Was going to follow your advise and keep it simple, but I think an explanation… and take time this weekend for a small celebration… we all know you love parties)
Congratulations Lorelle, Well deserved! And congratulations to all the others in the list while I’m at it. Makes it all worth it now doesn’t it? Okay, so there’s a lot of other things that make it worth it as well but what’s a fine cake without a bit of frosting?
YOU ROCK!! You totally deserve it!! I’m new to WP and blogging, although been online forever it seems. My Google searches always lead me to you. I’ve accomplished more this month than years of a traditional html site. You deserve much of the credit!
You pack every page with relevant info and succinct text. Plus you are enthusiastic, supportive, humble and knowledgeable, with a beautifully and uniquely designed blog. Who could ask for anything more? Much continued success!
Congrats! I joined that but no one ever voted for me. No bother. xD I see a few blogs I recognize on the list. Congrats to them too!
Congrats Lorelle.
