Lately, there has been a rash of blogging birthdays as bloggers pass their first, second, or third year of blogging. But the one year birthday of this blog has become a major celebration for the blogger as well as her readers: Essential Keystrokes Birthday Bash Week Prizes.
Like I said Friday, I have a habit of celebrating all of my birthdays for at least a week – and my blogging birthday will be no different. So far I have five fun prizes to give away on Friday – granted, they are not as big as Problogger or John Chow’s cool giveaways, but they are fun, nonetheless. And, if you happen to have a product, gadget, service or similar that you think my readers would love to get as a prize, and you are willing to donate it, let me know and we’ll expand the prize party!
Char of Essential Keystrokes is throwing a party and her readers are getting the presents. What fun!
The presents will be given to anyone who comments on her blog by Friday, June 29, and winners will be picked out of a hat.
Awards include my book, Blogging Tips, Blog Marketing by Jeremy Wright, Do You Q? game by Mitch Matthews, and an iTunes gift certificate, though more prizes may be available.
One of the key ideas in good marketing is giving things away to get attention, and this is a great method for drawing attention to your blog and rewarding your readers and commenters. It’s a lot of work, but can be a lot of fun.
Good luck, Char, and congrats on your blogging birthday!

It’s so nice of you to share this thing to us. Those are nice gifts. So how can anyone avail of those gifts? You said one of the gifts is YOUR BOOK. Which book? I’m curious about that DO YOU Q? game. What’s that all about?
My book is Blogging Tips, What Bloggers Won’t Tell You About Blogging. As for the rest, they are described in Char’s contest announcement. I don’t know about the Do You Q? game.
Thats great idea.
Lorelle – thanks so much for highlighting my birthday bash – it was certainly a nice surprise this morning.
The Do You Q? game is a series of conversation starters – perfect for a ice breaker activity or simply as a tool for inspiring thought.
Thanks again for all your support along the way!
