WordPress.com Announces Strong Password Indicator

In a recent announcement, WordPress.com asks “How Strong is Your Password”, highlighting a new feature on your password update panel that measures the “strength” of your password.

I recently wrote an article on the Blog Herald called Protect Your Blog With a Solid Password, offering tips and tricks to help create a strong password that is also memorable, and how to deal with all the myriad passwords we seem to accumulate online.

    I prevent hacking by not keeping anything that’s worth anything to a hacker online behind a password. My bank’s online banking site identifies my specific computer, and everything else has no value except to me and a few of my friends.

    @Avrila – No, you’re not preventing hacking. You’re preventing yourself from losing anything of value if should have the misfortune to be hacked. I take your point, but it’s not the same thing.
