I write a topical blog about living in Taiwan. It is informative if you are wondering about life in Taiwan. It is a very specific niche, but something I have grown to really enjoy. I started it because I felt there wasn't enough information about what Taiwan really is, there were only sites trying to profit with classifieds and listings for hotels and what not.

I hope so. By blogging my raw emotions, I hope to connect with and offer some hope to those struggling through intense grief or sorrow of loss. Some days I write and am so exhausted from what I've had to say, that I leave my computer in a wretching puddle of opened wounds. Yet, each time I strip away those scabs, I heal a little bit more.

So I guess, not only does it reach my readers, but in the end, it's my free therapy.

I hope and think that my site, www.beyondbehaviors.com, does make a difference. From the responses I've gotten from teachers, counselors, school administrators, and college students, the site is on the right track. Although the blog is targeted to a very specific audience (e.g., classroom management, school crisis response, and mental health) I do get some loyal visitors who frequent the site on a regular basis.

The site has changed me in that it has made me a better writer, one who tries to communicate clearly and effectively. Maintaining the blog has also forced me to learn more about the backend things like HTML and codes (which I was completely clueless about). Finally, my site has been very validating to me as a professional because it reminds me that if I set my mind to do something and if I put in hard work that things will pay off (not monetarily per se, but emotionally rewarding).
