Thinking about using Adsense for income on your blog? Or frustrated with your lack of adequate income from your Adsense ads? Check out ProBlogger’s article, “Does AdSense Suck for Bloggers?“, for a very good perspective on how to make money with your blogs and other steps you can take to increase your blogging income indirectly.
Some ads suck for some bloggers. Some advertising efforts work better than others, and some work better when you make a few visual or structural changes in the blog’s design and code. Sometimes your blog doesn’t have to make you money as much as it generates income through visibility, acting as a portfolio and resume to get you work away from your blog.
Only you can decide which monetizing effort will work for your blog, but trust me on this. Passive efforts will not get you money, no matter how popular you think your blog is. Earning income takes work, and earning income on your blog takes even more work.

This is one of my favorite posts on AdSense: http://www.destraynor.com/serendipity/index.php?/archives/120-Changing-the-World,-on-9-a-day.html
Lorelle,
For you, this blog is an extension of your business. You blog for exposure, and to get your name out as an expert ( which I believe you are. ) Many blog’s ARE the business. If the blog itself doesn’t make money, then there’s no money to be made. These bloggers aren’t promoting a business, they’re just trying to make a few bucks with their blog. Adsense is the best game in town for that. At least for now.
