Lorelle, what a great job! You must have spent a few hours getting all this info together? British Airways actualy are good with their info, guess they found out that an informed public will always be easier to handle than angry passengers at the gates and check-in counters! I try and get my flight infos on the internet when ever I can. ...and having none or little graphs on a page helps a lot, especially when logging in on my laptop and a cellphone connection.

Great post Lorelle - trust you to find another way of looking at something!
Just a quick point - BAA is not actually British Airways, just the company that look after the British (and some other) airports. For British Airways, check BA.com.

There is news and there is News. What BAA have done on their website should be commended, like you say. The thought of being stranded at Christmas time is bad enough and this approach means that the needed information is straight at hand, clear and accessible to all, regardless of browser or any accessibility needs of the reader. The simplest ideas are always best.

This approach should be in the armoury of all service-related websites and should be easy to author and 'switch on'. In my professional life I develop content-managed websites based on Microsoft's Content Management Server. I think a cut-down, text-only, 'emergency announcement' facility would be a good thing to add to our core product.
