Wow. This is a week for news.
PC World’s list of the “The 100 Best Products of the Year 2006” lists WordPress.com as 95 out of 100 of the Best Products of the Year.
It doesn’t say much but here it is:
95. WordPress Blogging Tool (free)
Two practical controls make this product stand out: Photos and art are resizable on the fly inside the editing space, and dividing a blog entry into two parts is simple.
WordPress.com also got high credits in the PCWorld review of 101 Fabulous Freebies – Blogging Tools for Everyone.
WordPress.com is new, and we’ve got a ways to go. Blogger made 33 on the list, and there were no other blogging services or tools I found on the list. So the new kid on the blog block is moving up the ranks. Congrats to all!
As a side note, Mozilla Firefox Internet Browser made number 15. Microsoft’s Internet Explorer isn’t even on the list. Come on, folks. Think about it. Why are you still using IE? Hint hint.

Did you see the conversation about this in the forum: http://wordpress.com/forums/topic.php?id=2218&replies=20
I still can’t believe that they listed Blogger as their favourite blogging app!
Think it is great that Mozilla’s Firefos was ranked #15. Unfortunatly I just found out that it used 100 mb of ram as soon as you open, but it still is my favorite browser by far!
Good point, Joel, but have you checked your RAM after opening 5 IE windows? Hmmm? It increases as you are loading 5 full versions of IE. The load on the RAM does not increase that much with multiple tabs, and I have over 80 tabs open right now as I’m writing this in Firefox.
Collin, thanks for pointing out the conversation. Very interesting. And I’m interested in trying wbloggar now that you’ve mentioned it. I’ll report back soon.
