I think anyone with something to say should have a blog, provided they are good at writing and can entertain the reader. I don't care if they're selling their company or telling us about the grand canyon: if it's interesting I'll stick around, if it's not I'm gone. The blogosphere has its own form of natural selection.

I sense that blogging is an inkblot test. It's like picking images from fluffy clouds: what you see is more about you than about what you're looking at.

I enjoy tweaking the format. Not everything need be linear. Personal and business can be intermixed. My blogs go with the flow.

Blogs are nothing more than webpages that are easily created and automatically indexed. After that, it's like kids used to be with their cars. You can add chrome or supercharge the motor or put on fins -- the mods are up to you.

I'm definitely part of the "new school" when it comes to blogging - I blog about corporate blogging and I work as an editor for the Know More Media blog network. I believe that most businesses should blog, because it allows them to develop personal relationships with their customers and potentially save lots of money on marketing, among other benefits.

It's always hard for humans to get out of their comfort zones, but thought is one area where it's quite important - especially when the pace of change is so fast.
