I’m right now looking at the interface, and indeed its very much like the google counterpart: Authenticate via a html page or a meta-tag. I guess they changed it.

Thanks for you help, anyway. Anybody else how knows how to authenticate using wordpress.com?

I think you are getting this confused with Google Sitemaps and Webmaster Tools.

I just checked and Yahoo Site Explorer just asks you to put in your blog’s URL and then click EXPLORE. I didn’t mess with the adding a site, as that happens automatically with WordPress blogs with the built-in ping system. You publish and Yahoo is notified. Maybe things have changed, but you don’t need to do anything.
