I’m using wordpress as an organizing/presentatin tool for my college term papers. I can upload them, edit them, and let people comment on them easily. It turns out really slick– especially when I can add pages that are treated differently than categorical posts. Without wordpress, I would either have a tool that’s overkill or I’d be doing it by hand it wouldn’t have the useful features that foster community– comments and rss feeds.

Lorelle shared a page on her site to help me with a WordPress problem I am having. What a delightful website!

Anyway, this contest link caught my eye and I clicked and right at the top I find Cyndy’s comment and am fascinated. Cyndy is blind yet designs websites. I clicked on the link and saw her website, and also her guide dog. Haven’t figured out yet how she manages to design sites, being blind. But I think it is wonderful that you do, Cyndy.

Sorry, I didn’t make it through any of the other submissions here. But would love to be notified, Lorelle, should Cyndy be one of those interviewed. I want to learn more about how she does all this! And to Cyndy, I say, “Way to go!”

I’m also one of the Flock beta crowd, never blogged before, but decided to give it a go using Flock and the WordPress.com invite. I’ve always wanted to write about two passions of mine, sport and business, so i came up with my Sport Businesss blog, I’m still not entirely happy with the title, but want to get away from the stuffy websites that currently offer lots of reporting but very little opinion on what goes on – off the field. Your contest/challenge got me thinking Am I a lazy writer? As an author and business coach you would think I would be immune. Think again. I am human too.

That is no reason not to write with quality, meaning and substance.

Being new to WordPress, and by far, not the techno-geek I once was, I have recently migrated my online journal from Blogger to WordPress. I'm in the midst of thinking up a catchier name than ...and in the boat there was a man.... (And ten points to you if you get the reference!) Anyway, my wp.com is not all that impressive - it's basically a place for me to ramble and clear my thoughts. My therapist used to always say "get it out of your mind and on to paper", so I guess this is the equivalent today. A bit about me: I'm a 27yo part time university student from Melbourne, Australia, with interests in governance and representation. I currently sit on my University's governing Council, and by virtue of that, on a number of boards and committees. All of this puts me in contact with various people, but detracts from my class work. I'm likely to be a student for a fair few more years yet! Mmmmm, I'm not really all that interesting, so I suppose I'll leave the rest for the interview (because you *want* to interview me now... ha ha). Or you could just drop by my wp.com and say HELLO.

hi,
i just browsered your blog and found this post. I don’t know if you interview my and I’m not sure if it is necessary but anyway I like to write something about my blog.
I’ve just started to blog. Never had one before but I thought it could be the time for it.
Why? … I’ll go to university at this mounth and so a new part of my life starts and I thought that I could write some of my expectations and experiences down and share them with other people who make some similar experiences.
I also would like to write something about what happens at the university like some parties or other events to inform my fellow students.

So that’s the story of my blog.
The problem you could have with it is maybe that it is in german so you may not understand it

Why should I get interviewed? Well I considered your comment on my 15 minutes of fame post to be an invite to request an interview

Anyway, I’m a 22 year old part time college student. The only real interview I’ve every had was for a text messaging service by the name of Cellphedia. It’s kind of like Wikipedia, but dedicated geared towards mobile phone users. I was lucky enough to get a little limelight on Wired: Put Some Wisdom In Your Pocket.

Aside from being a contributer at UNEASYsilence.com, I try my best to get access to beta web services. I’m all about Web 2.0! Yeah baby! Anyway, I found myself on WordPress.com via Flock. I wrote a little snippet about Flock and was invited to test the service. I love the idea. I love the hard work these developers invest in these services… I can’t wait to see the general publics reaction when this thing goes public [both WordPress.com and Flock].

Anyway, that’s me. Derek. I actually hate writing anything formal. Ever since I started writing knowing that I had readers, I’ve slowly forced myself to come out of my “writing shell”. I’m going to assume my “blogging” has helped improve my actual writing for all my school courses. I have to discipline myself though. Whenever I sit down to write an actual research paper, I often make the mistake that I’m writing for a blog. Sometimes blogging is not a suitable writing style for graded papers. *shrugz*
