Increasing the Benefits on wordpress.com

It should be the talk of the town by now, so I guess I can talk about it. The original announcement about wordpress.com mentioned that if you wanted to do a photoblog with wordpress.com, with only 15 megs of drive space for image and media uploads, it just wouldn’t be very feasible.

Well, wordpress.com is now up to 100 MB of drive space. That small photoblog is looking much more possible.

As wordpress.com progresses, I wonder what other exciting things will occur. This is the fun of working on a live, evolving piece of online software. You never know what will be different tomorrow. WEEEEEE!

Update: Well, we knew things were going to be changing around wordpress.com, and nothing is really set in stone, so it’s not surprising that the 100 MB of drive space is now 25 MB. That’s still pretty generous for most of what people may want to do.

So, they shrink it to 25megs? Then you all better put all your images on other free photo storage. Leave the wp.com storage for your writings only :)

Yeah, I saw it rise and shrink…how sad. I wasn’t really planning on using the space anyway, since I have a website full of space to stick things. But 25mb is a bit tiny to be squeezing a good photoblog into. Guess there’s always Flickr or ImageShack or PhotoBucket. (I’ve never used Flickr…is there free service even good?)
