Just thought I’d give you a tip if you want to track information and news on the new wordpress.com. Technorati’s search for wordpress.com turns into a search for wp.com. I’m not sure what is going on, but every other search for wordpress.com on Technorati pans out with a note that the activity level is too high, search later. When you can get to it, you only see the most recent 10 or so.
To search for wordpress.com on Google, it’s a little strange. If you just type in wordpress.com or http://www.wordpress.com you will be taken a page with only one link (subject to change, of course) to wp.com. If you wrap the site address in quotes, “wordpress.com”, you will get over 47,000 links. Odd.
On Yahoo, a similar thing happens. Just type in wordpress.com without the quotes and you get 76 results. But add the quotes, and over 35,000 links appear. Maybe there is something to be learned here.
Update: Tracking the news on Technorati, I noticed that only old posts on wordpress.com were showing up. I slapped some quotes around “wordpress.com”, and again, bingo, plenty of listings. Hmmm, I have to look into this quote wrapping business.
